What to Do with Your Salt Chlorination Pool in Winter

The swimming season for private pools is coming to an end, so you need to be prepared to face winter. Once the summer season has ended and bad weather becomes part of our daily routine, we must consider what to do with our salt chlorination pool. Are you ready?

How to Winterize Your Pool

Salt electrolysis allows us to keep the water clean and disinfected for 5 to 7 years without having to drain the pool. Furthermore, draining it completely is a measure we do not recommend at Innowater: it can damage the structure of the installation and waste many gallons of water.

Winterizing the pool is a process that should be carried out when temperatures drop and the pool can no longer be enjoyed normally. Special care must be taken when winterizing salt chlorination pools to protect the water and the installation as a whole.

Below we show you the steps to follow to care for your installation during the new season:

  • Perform a thorough cleaning of the pool with a pool vacuum and clean the pump strainer and skimmer baskets.
  • Make sure the water pH is between 7.2 and 7.4. Monitoring and regulating this parameter will be easier with a pH control mechanism.
  • Place a cover on the pool to maintain the temperature and prevent debris from entering the water
