Salt Chlorination Process

The salt chlorination process aims for water disinfection to ensure optimal conditions for swimmers. Salt chlorination generates chlorine from salt through an electrolysis process. This technique avoids the use of chemical products and is especially suited for pool treatment.

Salt chlorination offers numerous advantages compared to conventional disinfection systems: water quality achieved, treatment cost, health impact, and ease of use. The natural chlorine generated by salt chlorination eliminates bacteria, algae, and viruses present in the water, prevents the appearance of chloramines, and removes other contaminants such as sunscreens or body oils.

How Salt Chlorination Works

The salt concentration is sufficient to carry out the cleaning process without being bothersome to the swimmer.
Salt chlorinators are responsible for separating chlorine from sodium to ensure total water disinfection.

One of the main advantages of salt chlorinators is that they operate automatically daily, generating and dosing chlorine automatically from salt. This eliminates the need to handle or store chemical products. Therefore, we eliminate the associated risk in the treatment plant area, achieving a hazard-free work environment.

Contributing to environmental care with your pool is possible thanks to the innovation and technology applied in the equipment, which allows for the recycling of elements like water, avoiding constant changes year after year by maintaining ideal conditions for longer seasons.

Here are some basic tips to keep in mind when you have a salt chlorination system:

  • For the salt electrolysis system to function properly, the water temperature must be above 15°C.
  • For effective disinfection, it is essential to maintain a pH between 7.2 and 7.6. It is highly recommended to install an automatic pH regulator alongside the salt chlorinator to automatically maintain correct pH levels.
  • Regular monitoring and cleaning of the electrolytic cell for limescale deposits and dirt.
